SHINJUS’ VOLUNTARY GUARANTEE INFORMATION
You have the protection of consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. (Note: The general comments below are not a comprehensive or exhaustive summary of the Australian Consumer Law.)
Relevantly, the Australian Consumer Law contains certain statutory automatic guarantees (consumer guarantees) which provide you with a basic guaranteed/automatic level of protection when you purchase Shinjus jewellery in Australia. For example, there is a consumer guarantee that our jewellery is of acceptable quality (that is, free from defects, safe, durable, acceptable in appearance/finish, and fit for wearing based on what a reasonable consumer would regard as acceptable given the type of goods, price of goods (if relevant), description/statements on packaging/labels, statements made by supplier/manufacturer about the goods and other relevant circumstances).
If your Shinjus jewellery fails to comply with the applicable consumer guarantees you are entitled to certain remedies under the Australian Consumer Law. In accordance with the applicable provisions of the Australian Consumer Law: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Note: “major failure” has a specific meaning under the Australian Consumer Law.
Refunds should be provided in the same form as the original payment
Exclusions to Shinjus’ guarantee against defects
Shinjus’ warranty does not apply to items that have been handled against our care instructions or damaged by accident or misuse. See the end of this warranty document for care instructions.
All metals will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster if they have contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph. The amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs depends on your skin and jewellery care habits. Tarnishing due to the above reasons, is not covered under this warranty.
Guarantee timeframe: 90 days from delivery date

CARE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Care Instructions
We recommend that customers remove jewelry before going to bed or participating in physical activity. Exposure to certain harsh chemicals or environments will result in compromising the integrity of your jewelry. This includes, but is not limited to the following: perspiration, perfumes, cleaning agents, chlorine, salt water, and silver polish.Cleaning Your Jewelry
Pour a small amount of mild soap into lukewarm water and use a small, soft toothbrush to clean your jewelry. Toothbrushes are ideal for cleaning jewelry with intricate details, which can otherwise be difficult to clean. If the dirt is hard to remove, soak the jewelry in clean water. This particular cleaning method should not be used to clean jewelry with cultured freshwater pearls (see Cultured Freshwater Pearls for more details).
A silver-polishing cloth is a great tool to make your sterling silver jewelry shine again if the pieces have become dull. However, it will not remove scratches. Silver-polishing cloths may be purchased.Cultured Freshwater Pearls
Cultured freshwater pearls cannot withstand silver polish. Avoid contact with makeup, creams, chemicals, and cleaning agents.
Storing Your Jewelry
Jewelry should be stored away from natural sunlight and heat, in a protective (lined) jewelry box or a tarnish-resistant pouch. It can also be stored in a plastic zip lock bag made of Mylar or polyethylene. Never use polyvinyl plastic bags, such as trash can liners as they contain sulfur compounds, or rubber containers which will make sterling silver tarnish faster and possibly turn black. Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom.
Annual Service Gold and silver are soft metals and become worn with use. This is true for all genuine jewelry. Depending on the degree of use, it is recommended that your jewelry be inspected at least once a year by a goldsmith. In particular, it is important that clasps, mounts, and soldering are checked
